500ml bottle poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 12th June 2015. Clear amber body, smooth white blanket of foam on top. Caramel like malty molasses in the aroma, toffee notes also. The taste is leaning towards sweetness from the start, a drier and slightly bitter finish awaits you at the end of each sip. My sweet tooth liked this, the semi-sweet maltiness pushing the hops well back in the ’Game Bird’ pecking order (see what I did there?) throught the brew until the last drop.

Cask @ Milne’s Bar, Edinburgh. Golden with a thin head. Not much in the nose but has a decent light tropical fruitiness in its taste. Quite crisp.

A pint at Au Bar. Appearance - deep amber with a decent head. Nose - caramel shortbread. Taste - yes more caramel shortbread. Particularly biscuity finish. Lovely green nettle undercurrent. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall - lovely balance between sweet and bitter.

Cask at Bow Bar. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The nose is sweet, spicy, grassy, floral, nettles and sweet grain. The taste is lightly bitter, grassy, floral, nettles, sweet pale malt, honey? and a touch of spice with a short finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. A bit wishy-washy. So-so.
