The Tap at the Craft Beer Shop, Little Chalfont. Poured a clear light amber with a long lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, tropical fruit. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery fruity woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Didn’t really get the blackcurrant.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - A good old ale. A nice flavour of malt and a very pleasant mouthfeel. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it just didn’t stand out from the crowd.

Bottle at L42, care of Colin. It pours murky dark brown with a gigantic beige head. The aroma is toasty brown bread, earth, wood, leather, cocoa and dried fruits (including date). The taste is dry, harsh bitterness, wood, date, plum, dried fruits, roasted malt, cocoa and some alcohol. Medium body and overly high carbonation. Better than the white IPA, but still fairly basic.

Bottle at level 42, thanks to Colin. It pours murky amber with a gigantic white head. The aroma is pretty muted.... earthy, cereal, bread, wood and dirt. The taste is fairly harsh initially, bitter - sweet, sugary, orange rind, boosty, brown bread, chewy malt, spice and wheetabix with a sweet finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. A bit messy overall.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Colin. Lightly hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Smooth and semi dry palate, modest carbonation. Mellow malts, modest creamy sweetness. Very mild contrasting roast. A little floral bitterness. Light and smooth pine. Smooth dry finish leaves a trace of bitterness. Wishy washy but okay.
