Bottle, 4.6% bought at the brewery. Fruity aroma. Almost clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is OK malty, has a little rotten vegetables. Grainy finish.

Bottle, 4.6% as Pfister Öko-Weissbier. Sourish, farty vegetable, plastic aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is phenolic with some banana. Dry finish. I hope it is an infection.

On tap at Brauerei Pfister, Weigelshofen, during Fin and Loz’s cycle ride around villages to the South and South East of Bamberg, Germany 19-06-10 Pours copper in colour with good clarity and a slim white head. Some light toffee on nose, touch of orange, nice nose. Taste is a gentle bittersweet combination but very easy drinking a finishing bitterness but is soft with a touch of orange & sweetness at end, its a good beer. A6 A5 F7 P4 Ov13 3.5

On tap at Brauerei Pfister, Weigelshofen, during Fin and Loz’s cycle ride around villages to the South and South East of Bamberg, Germany 19-06-10 Pours gold with a very slight haze and a white head. There is a cleaner more lager like nose than the other pfister, soft in mouth, bit creamy with some vanilla, easy to get on with. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3

(swing top bottle) Hazy, bright amber colour with a beige and dense medium-sized foamy head. Caramel- and toast-malty, yeasty and subtle fruity aroma with notes of cacao and herbal, slightly sweaty hops. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Although its 4.6% abv the brew starts with a good toast-malty base, notes of cacao, caramel and herbal hops, gets finally a bit slim. Pretty likeable dark Kellerbier, named after the Pfister Bierkeller. 02.V.10

Ceramic mug. Thick head. Lightly hoppy, minerally nose. Pale malts and a soft body. Herbal hops but low bitterness, as is typical for landbier. It’s easy drinking but misses the key pleasure points.

From gravity, straight out of the keller @ Schwarzen Keller, 2km up the hill from Weigelshofen. Toasty, slightly chocolatey nose. Maybe a shade of butter in there. Very toasty palate, deep caramels and toasted butter.
