Bottle @ Benzai, BB June 2017, 10 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of butter, some grainy malt and buttery hop. Buttery sweetness, slight bitterness. Either this is simply not as good bottled, or it is way too old. Unworthy at this point unfortunately.

Bottle [from Euro Swap, thanks to Vami] @ home shared with Caesar. Slightly unclear yellow golden color, small to average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, old hops, unfortunately quite buttery, decently bitter. Body is actually quite well done for this kind of beer.

Bottle via trade with GlasgowTad, shared at Leighton’s 20K. It pours dark brown / near black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, plenty of smoke, leather, charred wood, tar, vanilla, smoked meat, tobacco, rocky road, bonfire and bacon frazzles. The taste is rich roasted malt, leather, smoke, charred wood, rocky road, bonfire, toast, vanilla, tar, cocoa, tannin, wood, quite drying, tar and bacon frazzles with a warming finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. I wasn’t expecting the smokey character, but thinks it works well. Rather tasty stuff overall. Didn’t disappoint.

500ml bottle, from trade with Gebels. Many thanks! Pours an unsurprising black, small tan head. Aroma is rich dark malts, dark fruits. Taste is rich, meaty, woody with liquorice, layered dark malts, chocolate and ash. Ticking all the correct boxes. Very good.

50cl bottle @ Butchery & Wine, Wazawa. BB 25/4/2017.

Bottle with huge thanks to Nikos! Second time is the charm on this one I guess :). Shared with friends at a tasting; can’t let whale juice go to waste! First of all,t he bottle design is really cool; appearance bonus points for that. Secondly, the wax is a disaster. Must be that eastern european quality control or something, because the damn stuff broke into a million tiny pieces and went all over the place, including into the beer. Never had that happen before. Pours clear black with a small tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is smoky, which I should have known based on other reviews but was surprised about. Notes of raisin, peat, whiskey, cocoa. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, medium smokey. Medium body. Interesting and solid beer, not top 50 material by any stretch of the imagination.

Bottle in the flat in Warsaw. Pours clear or age with a bubbly, frothy white head. The nose has citrus fruits, orange rind, pine, lightly toasted pale malts. Light sweet flavour with some grainy malts, old citrus peel, pine needles. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Piney bitter finish, some grass, dry caramel. So so. Good for the ABV, I suppose.

Bottle split at Warsaw Man Cave, with the bros, 07/04/17. Golden copper with a decent off white head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is caramel malt, biscuit, light spice, dusty hops, straw, orange. Taste comprises bitter orange, straw, light bread, melon, citric tinged straw, earthy hop scrub, grass, leafy notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok ... middle of the road for style ... pretty old skool ... there is way better out there for this style ... I’m a labourer by day !
