Description
Established in 2014, owner Seamus McMahon has set up a lovely brewery in one of the old sheds, located behind the milking parlour. This brewery is set up on a working Dairy Farm. The team have renovated the shed to exacting specifications. The brewery is set amongst the rolling drumlins of County Monaghan. Our aim is to create distinct beers that are brewed with care and affection. We have created a range of well balanced and flavoursome ales that reflect the changing face of the beer market in Ireland.

500ml bottle, red wax sealed, @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 24. Cheers Jeremy for this! Pours dark with a good tan head. Pleasant malty nose, roast & chocolate both getting a look in. Good malt depth with a soft whisky influence.. decent clobber.

19th February 2024; Shrewsbury Gathering, five blokes and loads of beer to share. 500ml bottle from me (via KWM Wines). Black bodied, tanned foam on top. Nice malty brew with a decent but not overpowering Whiskey notes, nice, easy sipping Winter Warmer sort of beer.

Gusher again: 10cm and overflow. Porous dark tan head quickly dissipating. Dark malts, coffee, molasses, liquorice and burnt toast on the nose. Later a bread dough yeasty nose. Very dark malt taste in the mouth, coffee, bitter, high carbonation. Very dry. Could have done with a bit more residual sugar. Lingering coffee bitterness. Full bodied and present but a bit 1-dimensional. Ok but not as sumptuous as favorite stouts and not on the other end of the drinkability scale either.

Behaves volcanically upon pouring despite carefulness. Slightly hazy ruby red.asdive head left over, porous but slowly dissipating. Caramel, dark malts, cola on the nose. Slightly high carbonation, caramel dark malts in the mouth with a cream soda midrange. Actually quite nice, more complex than your typical red. Well rounded. Lingering malty aftertaste.
