Description
Established in 2014, owner Seamus McMahon has set up a lovely brewery in one of the old sheds, located behind the milking parlour. This brewery is set up on a working Dairy Farm. The team have renovated the shed to exacting specifications. The brewery is set amongst the rolling drumlins of County Monaghan. Our aim is to create distinct beers that are brewed with care and affection. We have created a range of well balanced and flavoursome ales that reflect the changing face of the beer market in Ireland.

Can be considered as a well made beer but in the world of IPA it's fairly bland and forgettable. Very moderate in all aspects.

Tap. Not sure if the Brett is intended or not but for me it's a good type of infection. Basically Orval with a hit of tropical fruit. Is it coincidence that it's also 6.2% ?

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with practically no foam. Aroma is weak of coffee and earthy. Body is fairly dense, with average carbonation. Taste is abundantly roasty, with a little sweetish feeling underneath it. Final is a little disappointing.

Clear deep amber brown colour, good sized fizzy beige head, half-way lasting. Aroma sweet and roasted malt, caramel, red fruit, candy sugar. Malty taste, medium sweet and mild bitter, roasty, caramel, candy sugar, retronasal hint of molasses. Medium body, watery texture, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, roasty and malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel, bit cardboard, bit stoutlike Irish red, all in all good.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have quite a lot of dried fruit sweetness. Also fairly roasty. Nice but too thin bodied.

Virtually black with a thin, beige head. Very mild whiskey aroma. A dash of chocolate and roasted grains. Overall a subpar aroma for an impy. Taste though is a hit: full of sweet fudge balanced balanced by a mild roasted bitterness. Very nice. Body is medium, carbonation is mild, texture slightly watery. Overall, pleasant.
