Description
Established in 2014, owner Seamus McMahon has set up a lovely brewery in one of the old sheds, located behind the milking parlour. This brewery is set up on a working Dairy Farm. The team have renovated the shed to exacting specifications. The brewery is set amongst the rolling drumlins of County Monaghan. Our aim is to create distinct beers that are brewed with care and affection. We have created a range of well balanced and flavoursome ales that reflect the changing face of the beer market in Ireland.

Bottle from Total Wine: pours black with big foamy head. Aroma is dark chocolate and some coffee. Taste is dry and somewhat sweet. Fairly chocolatey. Nice heft. Good.

Hand pulled pint in the Stag & Scotch (micropub in Newport, Shropshire) on 25th November 2025. Really surprised to see a cask Brehon beer in Shropshire, so had to have one. Poured a dull hazy light golden colour, snow white crown that hung around. Bitter hop taste, mild citrus leaning, aroma slightly yeasty with a fruity/citrus ester or two. Didn't really take to it, but pleased to have tried it.

Black pour with a firm, lasting beige head. Molasses, roasted malts, oak, melted caramel, raisin, faint vanilla, whisky, and a touch of coffee. Full bodied. Finish is long with warm, but not hot, booze accompanied by chocolate, molasses, whisky, and lightly roasted notes. Lightly sweet throughout. Lovely beer.

Can 33cl. @home poured into a shaker. Hazy pale golden colour, small soapy white head, mostly diminishing, minor lacing. Aroma pale malt, lemon, tangerine, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, lemon, grapefruit. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, lingering sweetbitter aftertaste, orange pith, mineral touch, decent.

Black with a medium beige head. Lighter body than expected. Whiskey, chocolate, dark malts, molasses, wood, coffee grounds. Dry finish. I was a bit taken aback at first but this really grew on me. Not an overly heavy nor intense beer but one that carries all the expected notes in a more “approachable” manner, though not mid. Very nice beer.
