330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, roasty overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally toasty, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of toffee, coffee, coffee surrogate. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth, minimally cloying, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Very basic, rather dark - decent.

500ml bottle. Wonderful, opalescent, dark ruby colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of praline, milk chocolate, toffee. Taste is sweet-ish and slightly watery, minimally nutty and toasty, dark malty, diluted hints of malt lozenge, a touch of roasted nuts, praline, milk chocolate. Watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice composition, maybe a tad too sweet - enjoyable.

Sehr helle Farbe, schöne Trübung, ordentliche Menge Hefe. Schaumentwicklung und -stabilität für Weizenverhältnisse nur so lala. Gekochte Früchte, frischer grüner Apfel, bittere und aromatische Zitronenschale, gute Getreidenote mit etwas Porridge und eine deutliche Portion Hefe. Das ist durchaus recht schmackhaft. Kohlensäure im Mediumbereich, weich und ausreichend lebendig. Mit 4,8 % Alk. eher leicht aufgestellt. Dadurch auch sehr süffig und erfrischend - aber nicht wässrig.

Black Babbist, ein dunkler Bock der Brauerei Hufeisen, Fläschchen von Getränke Dietrich, Helmbrechts. - Tiefdunkles Rotbraun, klar. - In der Nase tiefes dunkles Malz, Mokka, Bitterschokolade, ein wenig Asche, eine Andeutung von kandierter Orange und feine hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Antrunk tief dunkelmalzig und schwach angekokelt, ein Eindruck, der sich auch gegen die feine Bitterschokolade behauptet. Kaum süß. Feine hopfenwürzige Herbe, die sich gut in die Mokkabittere einfügt. Milder rezent, vollmundig, sauber kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang fein malzbitter, leise aschig, dezent hopfenherb. - Eigentlich ein sauberer, klassisch fränkischer Bock, malztief, herb und wenig süß, wäre da nicht die leicht angebrannte Note.
