Description
The Schlossbrauerei Ellingen with its fine beer specialties has been around since 1690. Experience a piece of our long-standing brewing history with every sip. What makes our beers so unique? FÜRST CARL beers are still brewed by hand in the traditional way in the copper brewhouse of the historic brewery. Our raw materials are natural and come from Ellingen and the region: water from our own well, hops and malt from Ellingen and Franconia. We only brew what we are good at: Franconian beer specialties!
Our family, the princes of Wrede and the team of FÜRST CARL stand behind what we do: first-class beers.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Strawy malty aroma with notes of white bread, grassy hops and a tinge of metal. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Initially strawy and delicately bready malty taste with a present hops character with mainly herbal and grassy notes; dry and bitter hoppy finish with a mildly malty backbone. Fairly good. 11.VI.13

(bottle) Slightly unclear, golden colour with a bubbling medium-sized foamy white head. Sweet and slightly bready malty aroma with delicate herbal, slightly sweaty hops in the background. Light-bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Solid malty base with rounded herbal hoppy accents; malty finish with a good dash of herbal hops giving the right balance. Good one.09.IX.08

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly bready cara-malty aroma with hints of butter and a touch of spicy hops. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Bready and slightly sugary cara-malty taste with hints of biscuits and traces of honey; rather sweet and restrained bitter finish with shades of herbal hops. A bit on the sweet side but still likeable. 10.VI.13

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts spicy-malty, not as moldy as other kellerbiers. Some nice fruity hints. All in all mild and drinkable. Nice!
