On tap at pFriem, pours a clear straw yellow with a medium white head. Nose is full of grassy hops, straw and some cereal. Flavour brings out loads of grassy hops and straw, leaving very dry bitter notes of grassy hops. Very high drinkability. Great pils.

On tap at Muu-Muu's, pours a clear straw with a medium white head. Aroma brings out straw above anything - not much else. Flavour is very weak, bringing out notes of straw and cracker. Very uninspiring and watery, even for a wit. Probably pFriem's worst. Not good but inoffensive.

On tap at PIB, pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of dry dark fruits, a little caramel, and toasted malt. Flavour brings out caramel malts, Belgian yeast, and dried dark fruit. Very dry, but also somehow a bit sweet. Balanced well, but not the most complex beer. Solid dark Belgian strong, but nothing outstanding.

On tap at PIB, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is full of hay, biscuity malt, and barnyard notes. Flavour brings out loads of hay and biscuity malt. Very dry and hay-like, with a lot of drinkability. Not as complex or impressive as many other pFriem beers, but still very solid.

Tap at pFriem, Hood River, 24/05/13. Hazed pale yellow with a thin white head. Nose is tarte lemon, grass, herbal notes, bitter orange, spice, sweet notes. Taste comprises lemon rind, sugars, touch of booze, bitter orange, pinch of spice, grass, earthy, farmyard. Full in body with fine carbonation, a little on the cloying side. Ok stuff, the booze is well integrated for 9% but leaves a slightly warming finish - not what I want from a saison. Drinkable but saison US’d up in the ABV stake - too strong and not delivering the crisp finish the style craves.
