Can from Tanakaya. Drank straight from the can. Good grassy and piney hop aromas with some light grapefruit. Great carbonation with a sticky mouthfeel, but not overly sweet. Well-balanced IPA with a nice bitter finish. Very good.

Poured into a teku glass showing moderate filtration and dark amber hues with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a few steel tank notes and mostly sharp clean notes of pine and cannabis. A few notes of dried pineapple. The palate is well carbonated and surprisingly light bodied. Very smooth and clean body. Flavors are simple - mostly light tropical fruits, neither particularly juicy or ripe nor unripe, just in the middle. Finally, a respectable Japanese craft pale ale that I can get regularly!

6% abv version at Ushitora. BIg grapefruit and with aromas of resin, pine and marmalade. Nice bitterness on the palate with good malt sweetness to balance. Finish is bitter. Almost IPA like. --- Beer merged from original tick of Captain Kid Extra Pale Ale on 06 Aug 2015 at 19:39 - Score: 7

Can from tanakaya. Drank straight from the can. Big aromas of bubblegum, banana and clove. Tastes like banana cream pie. Creamy and full bodied in the mouth. Surprisingly good but a little too sweet for me. --- Beer merged from original tick of Weizen on 29 May 2015 at 09:13 - Score: 7

golden color, frothy white head. Hoppy dry nose of lemon and peaches. Hoppy dry mouth, a bit over attenuated I think, with nice toasted malt character. Modest dry bitter finish that is slightly astringent and phenolic. Good stuff but could be tweaked

12 ounce bottle thanks to Neil. Now this is a find. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A big citrus nose. The flavor is robust sweet citrus, caramel, some floral hops. Very smooth and easy, but flavorful. This is a hell of a pale. Very smooth, super fresh. Awesome. Had some Zombie Dust yesterday, this is almost as good.
