(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a loose, medium-sized and off-white foamy head. Mildly bready malty aroma with present notes of caramel, shades of cacao and a whiff of herbal hops far in the background. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly crisp carbonation. Bready cara-malty base with hints of chocolate, backed by a tinge of herbal hoppy spice; sweet-bitter, moderately lasting and quite balanced finish. Decent. 08.V.16

(Poured from a gravicask at HBF2016) The beer poured deep golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, grain and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, grain, malts, sweetness and bitternss. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. A greast beer with good drinkability.

(Gravicask at HBF2016) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, smoked ham and grilled sausage. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, grass, malts, grilled sausage and bitterness. Afteraste was smoky and bitter. A very smoky brew.

Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, caramel, smoke, molasses, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had smoke, caramel and bitterness. A nice balanced smoked brew but a bit too sweet.

swing top bottle 500ml. -as Krausen-Bügel. Slight hazy yellow coloured, small to medium sized white head, dusty grainy nose. Malty, grainy, notes of caramel and discreet hoppy with short bitterish finish. One of many.

Bottled 500ml. -Yellow/golden coloured, medium sized creamy white head, dusty and slight buttery nose. Sweet malty, cereals, buttery and light alcoholic with notes of sauerkraut in the finish. Less than two months after BBE date. Have to try it fresh next time.

Bottled 500ml. -Amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, distinct smoked ham in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, smoked bacon and touch of wood with rather flat smokey finish. Pleasant but a bit watery.
