Bottle: Golden to deep golden, small and very stable foamy layer, dry chalky-grainy, also slightly buttery nose, all in all typical franconian aroma, supported by shy herbal hops; light bodied and low carbonated; short chalky-malty finish, dry hoppy "tail". Typical decent franconian brew…

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Slightly buttery and slightly oxidised malty aroma with herbal hops and a tinge of metal. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame, if not flat carbonation. Initially slightly grainy malty taste with herbal accents; sweet-bitter buttery malty finish with a grainy aftertaste. A bit flat on carbon, otherwise drinkable. 01.XI.11

0.5l bottle from Fenaknoken, Oslo. This pours a clear really really mild unfiltered golden orange - almost glowing - body with a small fading filmy off-white head. Aroma is peachy, sweet, light malty with some fruity-yeasty tones. Average carbonation, almost watery texture and medium to light-bodied. Tastes light caramel sweet, mild malty with low bitterness and a hint of yeast in the finish. A easy and uncomplicated beer.

Bottle, from trade with Maria. A whiff of ham-like smoke escapes the glass when pouring. A small, off-white head forms on top of a clear, amber body. Smoak, malts, caramel and piney hops on the nose. Some apples too. It’s dry and smooth carbonated, with a lasting bitterness and some smoke in the end. Initially there’s ham, caramel and bitterness. A nice smoked beer but it ain’t in the same league as the classics from Brauerei Heller. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of it though. 110722
