330 ml bottle from Malefitz, Vienna.
red, brownish, murky body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of soy, cooked vegetables, nuts, bread, citric hops, some other fruits.
Tastes of roast, dark chocolate, soy, vegetables, citric, zesty hops.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty, hoppy, with soy again.

OK. Very unique, with lots of soy and vegetable notes, which aren’t my cup of tea though. My least favourite from the Aleysium range, this just doesn’t hit my taste, but at least a Bitter like no other.

bottle at home. amber, clear color. small off-white head. smells liqueurish, alcoholic, malty, honey, dried fruits, plums, light glue. overall quite like the smell. full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel, a lot of malt sweetness, honey, liqueurish, (warming) alocholic, also glue-like notes, some dried fruits again, apricot, some light hoppy grass and pine notes on the finish. finish is lightly bitter / alcoholic. overall quite good, the glue-like / sharp alcoholic taste is distracting and too strong for me, but appart from that i like it.

500 ml bottle from Ammersin Centerstore, Brunn am Gebirge.
Dark brown body, with a small, unstable, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma with a lot of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, smoke, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits.
Taste is quite light, with spices, smoke, coffee, some dark fruits, some hops.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonaton.
Finishes moderate, roasty-bitter, smoky, spicy, slightly hoppy.

Good, but too light for my liking. The combination of spices, smoke and dark malts could be very interesting if it had more body. Drinks very easy though. Overall quite unique, but I prefer it stronger.

Bottle at home, given to me by Matthias at Biervana, thank you. 5th April 15. Pours a good looking , rich amber beer, little neat head. The aroma is caramel, sweetish. The flavour is interesting, caramel, light spice, some coriander maybe, salt on the finish. Nice

Bottle. Cloudy red amber, low offwhite head. Musty fig-like, apple, vanilla, wooden (cedar), earthy, light mineral notes. Medium body, dry mouthfeel. Feels a bit rough around the edges, but it is certainly very interesting and a direction worth pursuing further.

330 ml bottle from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Dark copper, brownish, clear body, with a big, stable, frothy, lacing, beige head.
Rich aroma of milk chocolate, nuts, smooth coffee, dark fruits, some berries.
Tastes of dry coffee, cocoa powder, bitter chocolate, dark fruits, subtle hops.
Quite light, slick mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, dry, with coffee, bitter cocoa, some zesty hops.

Very nice. Especially the nose is really lovely, with a dense chocolate aroma. The taste is dominated by dry coffee notes, some more of those chocolate notes from the nose would have been nice for a better balance. Overall a tasty beer and one of the best from the Aleysium range.

500 ml white-glass flip top bottle at home. Amber cloudy color, big slow-dissolving tan head. Fruity smell, mango, also some sour notes, apple vinegar, light barnyard, after a while only sour notes detectable. Medium body, slick mouthfeel, slight carbonation, light sour start, some astringency, citric, light vinegar notes again, also some fruity notes behind the sour notes. Medium bitter/sour finish. This one is weird but i like it. I see the sour notes as mistakes on the brewers side and I guess the white-glass bottle does not help. I feel a bit generous to give this rating, but as i said in a weird kind of way i like it.
