Description
There's always something new to find. So let’s keep going. Let’s keep exploring. Let’s see what’s Around the Bend.

A production brewery located in Chicago, we believe in pushing the envelope - looking for what's next. Our canvas is your glass. You can expect interesting new flavor/style/technique mash-ups from us. But never just to be gimmicky. If there's not a clear reason to believe an adjunct or change in SOP will add something to the style we're brewing, we won't do it. But if there is…well, who knows what can happen. The possibilities really are endless. Time to get experimentin'. Let's all see what's Around the Bend!

16 oz can from Beerhead. Amber beer pour under some light brown foam. Nicely malty smell with a bit of grain. May be this can is a bit old, but the mouthfeel is a bit thin. Still some nice light caramel malts. Good beer impression comes in.

Sampled from the tap at District Brew Yards. Pours a hazy light yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has earthy citrus and sweet onion with a bit of mango underlying. Flavor combines mango and onion with growing citrus and sweet grains underlying.

16 oz can, no glass, so no color. Tart strawberry nose , but rather gentle. Taste has similar tart strawberry, maybe a side of rhubarb as well. The name implies some vanilla or cream, but that's not apparent here. Just a decent, nice fruity tartness for the summer.

Taster #16 at Beer Under Glass. Again, I break my resolved to only tap brewers I haven't had yet, selling out for an impy stout with no line in front of it. From the tap, this kicks up much more of a head than other Imperial stouts. The head looks more like a bit of cappuccino foam. But the smell is a nice whiskey and bourbon combination. Solid black in the glass. The smell is solid barrel-aged stout, with bourbon and malt to it. This is a solid sipping BA stout, full of whiskey taste, but nice and sweet. A lot of bourbon flavor and yes, alcohol. Enough to make me wonder if i will leave this event alive!

The description here on ratebeer is lacking. My pounder can says its a pistachio cream ale, not some stupid cream ale with vanilla notes. Well anyway, I hope this is in the correct spot. This can pours clear pale with a decent head. Does have an aroma smooth malty beer. For 5%, it hides its alky content well. Taste is rather creamy and malty as well. Not bad, hard to tell if there is any pistachio in this. or not. But it does say pistachio cream ale on the label, just telling.

Two fitty at chalet in boardman, nice place. Big pounder can. Pour is clear light pale with a bubbly white head that is fading. Nose is a little farmy but fruity. Taste is not as wild as was expecting. Yes, if I look for it I can find the watermelon but its well balanced. Quite mild for a brew that is supposedly wild. Has quite a bit of that typical gose feel to it. I'd say this is really a gose, not a wild. Not that its bad, just was expecting more tartness than achieved. Hides its alky content rather well, I guess that's why you get a pounder can. Pretty refreshing in the middle. Perhaps a little of that processed feel to it in the end bit overall, I found this brew quite enjoyable. I usually don't like watermelon in beer but this one is all right. With all the stupid ass IPA out there, it's been a long time since I had two good tasting beers in a row.

Sample at Grove City Brewing. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium thin white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.
