Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Tap @CBC2015
Dark opaque black color, not much head. Vanilla, licorice in the nose. Medium-bodied. Vanilla, sweetish, liquerish, alcohol in the finish. Not much coconut in the flavor. This tastes like a Baltic Porter on drugs.

The beer is a medium amber color. It’s fairly cloudy. Good sized white head. Lots of lacing. Good retention. The aroma is fairly nutty with a good dose of caramel maltiness. More brown ale in character than anything. The taste is chock full of nut flavor. A bit surprising, actually. Fairly dry. Solid toasted malt character. It’s really just a pecan explosion, at least for a beer. I’m not sure this flavor works best dry and fairly light, but it’s nice enough. Medium to light body. The nut flavor is just a bit odd, but I still feel like this is a successful experiment.

The beer is clear and golden, maybe a couple shades brighter than medium. Medium white head, leaving solid, sticky lacing. Mix of pine, citrus and tropical fruit in the aroma. Big and juicy and fairly dank. Pineapple, mango, tangerine, pine needles, orange and grapefruit peel. Mild simple malt sweetness in the background. Fairly bitter. Sweet hoppiness abounds. Lots of fruit flavor. Medium body. Nice chewy, oily hops. Solid beer.

The beer is a yellow-amber golden color. Medium sized white head. The liquid is somewhat hazy. Big pina colada hoppiness in the aroma. It’s just overflowing with tropical hop fruit flavors. Pineapple, coconut, mango, kiwi, sweet lemon, lime, strawberry. Really nice stuff. Simple malt sweetness in the background. Big sweet hop taste. Moderate to medium bitterness. The taste doesn’t have the same nuance but it’s nice and hoppy. Fairly dry finish. Gets a little grassy. Hop oiliness, drying feel. Medium body. Very nice hop flavor.

The beer is a yellow tan color. Medium white head, dissipates after a minute. Clouded over. Juicy, sweet apricots in the aroma. Fresh and bright. Mild gentle grain flavor underneath. Taste is dry and a bit washed out. The fruit is mild. A teensy bit of acidity. Mild grain. Maybe a little wheat. Kind of an odd mix of flavors. Apricot skin and simple, dry grain. Light bitterness. Very light feel. Refreshing but it just seems a bit flat.
