Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out mostly coffee notes, with a touch of the smoked malt barely detectable. Flavour brings out much more of the smoke, along with coffee, chocolate and even a bit of caramel. What a decadent, multi-dimensional porter this is, with everything in perfect harmony. Highly drinkable and robust. Excellent.

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Nose brings out Belgian yeast, some rustic farmhouse notes, but not really any brett character. Flavour reveals notes of floral hops, Belgian yeast, some fruitiness, and even a touch of sweetness, finishing on notes of fruity biscuity malt. Not really the brett bomb I was hoping for. Perhaps this needs some age on it for the brett to take hold. Still, very enjoyable saison for what it is.

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is more reminiscent of an IPA, with pungent hops coming out, primarily the fruity mosaic, along with some floral and herbal notes. Flavour is incredibly complex, with notes of floral and spicy hops upfront, followed by some herbal hop notes, and just enough dry biscuity malt to back. Despite being called a pale ale, this is definitely an IPA. Full on flavour and very refreshing. Delicious stuff.

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out notes of wheat, noble hops, and a little citrus. Flavour is very wheaty, with big notes of wheat upfront, followed by hay, and a touch of citrus. Very light on the palate, with some light funk and rustic qualities. Very well-made light farmhouse style wheat beer.

On tap at Cellarmaker, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Nose is pretty subtle, especially compared to the Jagged Little Pale Ale I just had - this brings out subtle notes of lemon, a little pine and citrus - but very restrained. Flavour brings out notes of piney hops, citrus, some tropical fruits, and some earthy notes. Nice mix of the hops varieties here. Solid IPA.
