Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.
We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!
Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!
Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

Pours a yellow-ish orange color. It’s quite cloudy, though not opaque. Medium sized white head. Moderate retention, fades pretty quickly to a dusting of bubbles. The aroma has a whole bunch of fruity hops along with a grainy cornmeal flavor and a lot of lime. The hop flavor is fruity and fresh - tangerines, lemons, limes, peaches, pineapples, grapes, all sweet and tasty. The spicing is fairly mild. I’m mostly getting the lime juice with a little bit of cilantro and just touches of the rest. On the other hand, the taco shells and chips are quite distinct in the aroma. It has a grainy cornmeal graininess that actually works really well with the lime and hops. Very refreshing beer that would go well with food, specifically tacos. Light mouthfeel. Fairly dry. Mild bitterness. Fun to drink.

Pours a bright orange-ish yellow color. Moderately hazy. Medium-sized white head, lots of fine bubbles. Good retention, etc. The aroma is all hops. It’s more tropical than I normally think of Simcoe hops. Mostly pineapple and tangerine. Some peach, mango, passionfruit. A little bit of pine. Very clean with some nice acidity. Taste is light, clean and hoppy. It starts with some pale malt sweetness, just a smooth simple sugary background. Then, the hop flavor comes in with more pine and grapefruit than the aroma but an otherwise similar profile. Moderate bitterness closes things out. A little bit grassy in the finish. It was just put on at Cellarmaker a couple days ago, so this is pretty fresh, and it’s a tasty, refreshing glass. Pretty dry. Lots of hop flavor but not overwhelming. Light feel. Nice hop bite at the end further cleans up and already clean flavor. Easy to drink. Very good hoppy pale ale. This stuff would sell fast in six packs.

Ok, this is awesome. It pours bright yellowish, amberish orange color. Fairly pale for a DIPA of this strength. Quite cloudy. Medium-small white head. Quite good retention/lacing, which is a bit surprising since this is a big beer poured from a growler. The aroma is simply wonderful. It smells like a tropical fruit salad. Huge, juicy, sweet hoppiness. Very big on pineapple juice, sweet citrus, candied lemon rinds, tangerines, mango, papaya, grapes, strawberry jam, sweet pine. It’s just bursting with hops. Little malt character, just some simple pale malt, I guess. Fairly dank, though I’d call it more tropical than dank. No booziness, which is an all too common affliction among >10% abv DIPAs. Taste is similarly great, maybe even better. It’s like a mouthful of candied tropical fruit hops. Bitterness is light. Fairly sweet, but it’s all hop flavor. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Normally, I’d want a bit more of a bite in the finish to clean things up, but this beer is so rich with hop flavor that it’s not necessary. Mild alcohol - considering it’s >10% abv, it’s impressively subdued. Mouthfeel is light but oily with hop flavor. Ridiculously easy to drink for a beer of this strength. I’m having to force myself to go slowly through the liter. This is the best new DIPA that I’ve had in a long time.

Pours yellowish orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of zesty pine, resin, juicy fruits, grass and citrus. Taste is juicy hoppy, zesty and lemony with notes of citrus, grapefruit and pine. Finish is citrusy, lemony and juicy hoppy. Total zesty lemon and citrus overdose, but still quite tasty.

Pours clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of fresh piney hops, resin, citrus, floral notes, grass and caramely malts. Taste is massively hoppy and chewy with loads of grass, citrus, floral notes, juicy fruitness and caramely malts. Finish is a bit stuffy with loads of hops, caramel, stingy bitterness and sweetness. Feels a bit unbalanced, but still quite tasty.

Pours hazy yellowish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fruity juicy hops, spices, lemon, zesty citrusy notes, lime and malts. Taste is smooth, zesty and fruity juicy with loads of different spices, lime, lemon, grapefruit, peppers and caramel. Finish is smooth, caramely malty and hoppy with loads of zesty fruits and spices. Pretty nice IPA with a touch of quite untypical spices that fit in surprisingly well.
