Description
Cellarmaker Brewing Company has been in the works for quite some time. Look for our beers to start making their way around better known beer bars and beer focused restaurants in San Francisco starting in September.

We have a tasting room in the same building as the brewery and will offer tasters, pints, and growlers. Some beers may be bottled further down the line but for now it's all draft. The only way you can take our beer away is in the form of a growler - which by the way, is a great way to drink beer!

Look for a focus of plenty of hoppy beers, belgian-style saisons, dark beers, and sour beers. We are huge fans of wine and bourbon barrel aged beers as well so it's only natural for us to have a barrel program. Think bourbon barrels loaded with big chewy imperial stouts, excessively hopped IPAs, fruited sour beers, and funky saisons. This is what we love. This is what we are all about. We hope you are too!

Please follow along for the ride as we build San Francisco's next great brewery.
Cheers!

On tap at the Brewery. Hazy dark golden with a small white head. Fresh and hoppy with pineapple, passionfruit, hay and some biscuits. Not that bitter. Easy to drink and quite enjoyable.

On tap at the Brewery. Black with a small tan head. The aroma was light with notes of roasted malt, chocolate and something sweet. Similar taste although a bit more of it. Soft and easy drink.

On tap at Hog’s Apothecary. Aroma has a medium light malt character with quite a bit of cracker notes, but also a bit of toasted bread and nuts. (Munich or Vienna malt?) Medium citrus character that doesn’t overwhelm the malt notes. Light tropical fruit character. Pours a pale, cloudy, golden orange with a small, thin white head that does good retention. Medium lacing and faint legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a nice malt presence. Medium high bitterness. Medium high citrus notes with some light tropical finish. Light sweetness and a bit of stickiness. Finish has a light lingering bitterness with moderate cracker and light toasted bread notes. Mouthful is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty enjoyable beer, but I think I was expecting something a bit hoppier in the aroma. I’m glad the malt character gets to show through but I feel it might be a bit strong in the aroma.

On tap at Hog’s Apothecary. Aroma has a moderately strong citrus hop character with grapefruit and orange. Lighter notes of pine resin and dankness. Quite a bit of citrus fruit character as well. Pours a fairly cloudy yellow gold to gold with a small, moderately thick white head that lingers nicely. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor is similar to aroma but with a nice underlying pale, cracker malt character. Medium bitterness with medium hop notes that add grapefruit and a light pine resin character. Moderately strong citrus fruit notes of orange, grapefruit, tangerine and faint hints of lemon and lime. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty enjoyable and interesting beer. The hop character is fairly light compared to an IPA, but the fruit adds a lot of the character that people try to get from the hops. The fruit notes from the hops are noticeably different from the fruit notes from the fruit. Juicy.

Very cloudy pale yellow. Up front, I get urine. Then the carb and nicely balanced mouthfeel hits and then mineral and wheat follows through with sugar hibiscus and there is still a weird urine note but it’s very drinkable. Would be nice on a hot day
