Description
You can come get to know our beers and the people behind them at either of our two locations.
Our original brewery on Lincoln Avenue is home to our Brewery Shop, where you can sample or purchase to-go, and a Tap Room, where you can stay, get a bite to eat and get to know who we are and what we do. You can now also visit our new brewery, on Balmoral Avenue, where we have a beer garden in nice weather and a completely separate food program.
Both locations offer perennials Daisy Cutter, Bodem, Pony Pilsner and Tuna plus plenty of small batch beers released weekly.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of pineapple, piney and resinous hops, and some dry earthy notes. Flavour is very earthy and dirty upfront, with dry piney hops, backed by sufficient caramel malt, finishing with loads of earthy dry hops. Love the dryness of the hops without it being too astringent or unbalanced. Delicious.

Draft. Murky brown color, massive thick cream colored head. Aroma of light pine and brown bread. Taste is Christmas fruitcake without the fruit. Not bad.

Purchased at Half Acre in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at home while creating a final mix for a musical project. This went down almost too smoothly, I finished it before I had time to review. Appearance a rich black with a smooth creamy off white head. Aroma of chocolate malt and coffee, maybe a slight bit more bitter than the average stout. Taste just went down very smoothly, rich chocolate notes balanced well with lactose and coffee. A really nice dessert like brew. Recommended.

Purchased at Half Acre in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at home while doing some work while watching the White Sox home opener. Appearance is a bright cloudy gold with a rich frothy white head. Aroma is very bright with citrus notes, very similar to Daisy Cutter but maybe a bit more of a malt presence. Taste is fantastic, they managed to turn up the volume on the hops (DC was already hoppy) while adding a slight malt characteristic that sets this apart from standard DC. Fantastic DIPA, great stuff, possibly my fav Half Acre release yet.

On tap and listed as daisy cutter IPA, so I’m sure if this rating belongs here or in the double daisy. It certainly comes across like any ipa but not as strong as an impy should be. Starts of rather fresh and citrusy then the big heavy hoppy ipa bitter thingy takes over clear to the finish. Does have some supporting co2 which makes thi almost enjoyable to the lager lover.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. Last beer of the day that I rated! Appearance is a dark dark brown, very rich off white head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, what else would there be at Stout Fest? Taste is good, chocolate, cocoa, not much bitterness, decent. Good beer to end the day with.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grains with backing light fruit and light spice. Flavor starts with sweet grain and banana and finishes with a bi of a grassy note.
