Yet another good pale ale. The hops are huge in this can, evolving from spicy to citrus-tinged to piney and then back over again, all against an easygoing malt background. The beer is a little thin around the middle, but all is forgiven as the hops up the ante with a dry yet manageable finish. Might be frontrunner for the title of Best Canned Pale Ale.

Some bar in Evanston: I saw this beer right next to Alpha King and it is a little sad to have to compete with the APA champion; however, I must say that this beer is up to stuff and puts up quite a fight. Pours on the lighter side of APAs. The aroma surprised me at first. Good combo of floral and piny hops, though I would say they were a bit more piny. Yet, there still was citrus involved. The beer itself taste quite good. Lots of hops to deal with, and a body that could manage and balance them out without becoming overwhelming. A few bready notes in there as well. Overall, an excellent brew.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a hazy gold body with a white head. Aromas of candied fruits, citrus, columbus hops and a herbal quality. Flavors are fruity, bitter, citrus, tropical fruits and a light herbal note. Lively bubbles. Well done.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed deep brown body and a quick to fade head. Aromas of alcohol, a huge brown sugar note, bitter, sweet, raisins, and cedar. Flavors of alcohol, bitter and ashy, caramel and very boozy. Lively mouthfeel for such a big beer.

Bottle shared by Koopa at beerloco’s. Pours clear amber. Strong hoppy nose with lots of pineapple, citrus, pine and caramel malts. Satisfying mouth feel. Lots of pineapple, piney hops, citrus and a well crafted caramel malt body.

Draft at FFF. Lemony hop aroma. Hazy orange-yellow color, thick white head. Astringently bitter, with a soft malty backbone. Quite dry, with lots of orange-citrus notes. The soft carbonation suits this beer well. The hops really shine over the alcohol. Fresh and yeasty. World Class, fruity and phenomenal.

On tap. Poured black with a creamy light brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of both roasted malts and coffee with a bit of dark chocolate underlying. Flavor began with roasted malts but was joined by a bit of an overwhelming espresso note that led to a very strong one note finish.
