On tap at Izakaya, Pottsville. Very very dark brown beer, thick creamy head. Nose of roasted malt. Sweet and super drinkable. More like a bock than a schwarzbier, really really nice.

Can. Clear reddish amber with a 2cm of white head that fades fast. Aroma of shiny breadcrust, gentle citrus, grilled peach, hints of pine. Slightly creamy texture. Sweetish with bitterness that takes a little long to assert itself. The fruit is subdued but the finish is nicely spicy when it does grip. A more than solid beer.

My son Ben went to Hong Kong late last year and brought me back three beers, all Japanese, this 350ml can was one of them. Drank at home on 13th February 2023. Clean and clear golden body, decent white crown. Refreshing but lacking flavour really. New brewery and a rare (for me) Kristallweizen.

(Can) Pours clear golden with short lived loose white head. Subtle aroma - grainy with sulphurous notes. Light body with rather fizzy carbonation. Somewhat tart start, followed by some light maltiness and some distinct bitterness in the finish. It’s not great but it’s certainly drinkable.

(Can) Pours clear gold with big loose white head that disappears quickly. Subtle aroma with notes of grain and caramel. Light bodied and fizzy. Somewhat tart start. Very thin and watery. A bit grainy, but some biscuity hints. There is some bitterness in the finish. It’s not terrible, but seems like a beer and soda water shandy.

Can. Crisp hop nose, herbal, dry, light fruitiness, slightly spicy. Stone fruit nose and unripe citrus. Malt stays in the background. Clear gold with a low head. Fruity, spicy, flowery flavor. Not overly sweet. Well attenuated. Spicy, mildly bitter finish. Interesting, complex fruitiness that isn’t sweet. I quite like this. One of the best I’ve had in this series.

Can from Lawson. I've been avoiding these lately, but this was the only interesting thing I found. Deep amber-orange-red color, clear, with a huge head. Nose is caramel malt, toasty. Hops are quite faint with some citrus. Flavor is caramel, toast, some nuts, and a touch roasty, and the hops become more resiny and less citrus. Slight cherry notes too, fruity malt. Body is light. Not bad for a major's crafty IPA.
