Can from Sankus. Drank from the can. Big fruity yeast esters with peach and apple standing out strong. Almost cider like in a way. Very sweet and cloying on the nose. Some light spice, and perfume-bottle flavors on the palate. Boozy for the abv, and flavors don’t meld well. Too heavy and bready for the style. Cloying and gross. Nope, not a saison in the least. --- Beer merged from original tick of Craft Select Saison on 15 Jul 2016 at 21:11 - Score: 4. Original review text: Weird spice and too thin....yuck

Can, 500ml. Deep gold with a white head. Hay, pears, grass. Sweet with bread, some overt booze that’s warming at the end, modest bitterness. It’s inoffensive but offers little beyond a whack of booze.

35 cl can. Golden color, clear, big stable white head. Straw and biscuits, grainy malts somehow resembling the Czech/Svetly pilseners. A lot of hay/straw, a bit salty, a little sharp maybe, starch. Taste is sweetish with a subtle bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body, lively carbonation, smooth finish, a bit dusty and metallic, a little dry.

Can. Rather plain APA nose: some caramel, pine, and citrus fruit. Pale orange amber, clear, fine medium head. Thin flavor, orange and light pine and sweet malts. Light biscuits, light caramel, but overall too sweet, like just about every beer in this series. Not bad, but far too dull. Lightly bitter finish.

Can. Nice enough nose, actually. Light crackery hops, lemon, grapefruit, sweet orange, light Belgian spicy yeast. Sweet, fruity flavor, malts get a bit heavy, plus a touch of candy, sweet orange mostly. Body is heavy and a bit flat. Not bad, but should be crisper, lighter, and hoppier in the finish as well.

Very light, watery, devoid of flavour. One of the blander Japanese macrobrews.

Can on the shinkansen. Aroma is caramelly. Taste is caramel, maybe toast. There’s a slight fruitiness that could come from either stale cascades or the yeast, but you wouldn’t call this a hoppy beer by any means. Only a BU or two more than Premium Malts.

Gold. Thick head. Malty aroma, pale malts. Medium body and vague pale malt character with some biscuity notes. Decent, if unexciting .

"2016 Summer Premium". Golden. Not much head. sort of a grainy, appley aroma. Palate starts with more of that, but finishes with a harsh graininess and a slight off note, tough to distinguish but not quite right.

Golden. Thick head. Aroma is fruity, with light hop spiciness. Pale malt backbone but it is a little appley.
