About
We are a brewery and taproom located in downtown Cambridge. Our focus is on aroma-packed and flavor-driven beers, with an emphasis on New England IPAs, barrel-aged sours, and special seasonals. We brew a variety of one-off batches that allow us to pursue our various whims, and we don’t shy away from funk, twists on tradition, and unique ingredients.

CX tap, 6/15/23. Clear, pale-brass. Small, white head, low retention. Very gentle floral/herbal hops with timid yeast and plentiful biscuit and white bread. Light apple. Very pleasant but very light, even with warming. Earth and bread up front. More breadiness than perhaps I'd prefer. Almost a hint of dry caramel. It's certainly malty, rich and flavorful for its size, but I prefer a more yeast and/or hop driven pils. That's fine, though, these malts are well done and well attenuated. Reasonably crisp finish with gentle herbs and floral bitterness from hop.

Tap @ Lamplighter CX. Misty yellow, foamy white head. Pretty decent gose, true to style, gently tart with mild lemon and lime notes. Good stuff.

Tap @ Lamplighter CX. Pours a dark mahogany, off-white head. Aroma of toasted caramel malt. Continues to taste alongside soft nutty tones, toasted malt, grain.. great subtle shades with a nice depth of flavour for 3.7%. Excellent mild with great balance. If only English brewers had the courage to produce milds like this.

Tap @ Lamplighter CX. Pours a deep dark brown, off-white head. Espresso roast, leather and dark toffee nose. Taste presents excellent layers of dark caramel, chocolate malt and distant espresso.. such a good porter, lots here to discover, whilst remaining very well balanced.

375ml bottle, takeout from Lamplighter's Cambridge brewpub, sipped at our hotel in North Conway, New Hampshire. Clear, deep amber with a tan topping. Nicely complex old ale with teasing dark caramel, port and subtle leather.. exceptional harmony of flavours, if a little mild flavoured overall.

Pours hazy gold into a stein. Bright white soapy head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Sweet hay and caramel aromas. Sweet with hay and bread front to back. Easy drinking indeed.
