500ml bottle from the brewery. Nicely carbonated yellow hazy color. Aroma is yeast, fresh Pils malt and a very subdued hops.

Flavor is hay, floral notes, brett, and dusty yeast. Taste is spritzy carbonation, citrus, mild yeast, dry texture with a hint funky. Very crisp mouthfeel, light and easy.

Draft at the brewery. Bright unclear yellow, full head retention. The nose has a pleasant note of grapefruit, strong notes of pine and citrus hops.

Mostly well-balanced and still very hoppy. Grain bill is enough for balance yet; bitterness lingers with a huge Amarillo character. Nice citrus and pine balance. Not tasting any alcohol anywhere which make this SUPER easy to drink. Another nicely executed Imperial IPA but… you have to like Amarillo hops. Since I do this is a winner.

Growler filled at The brewery 3 days ago. Hazy golden color that showed a thin ring around the snifter. Aroma is really nice; tropical fruits, mild grapefruit zest and mild peach hints. Tempting indeed

My favorite aspect of this brew is the juicy texture. The center of this beer is just bursting with fruit flavors. Mild tropical hints that end in a grapefruit peel / zest. The malt bill gives sweetness but the myriad of hop varieties still gives this a hop punch. The balance is quite nice, neither overly hoppy or overly sweet. It’s actually refreshing to have an imperial IPA that isn’t so bitter that it causes palate fatigue.

The 8 % is not found in the sip and it drinks more like a 6 or 6.5 percent brew. As it warms to room temperature, the bitterness increases and gives it a slightly stronger hop slap. Honestly, if your reading this review, do yourself a favor. Get in your car and drive to the brewery and judge for yourself. I finished the 750 ml growler very easily. I tried to find a flaw and couldn’t.

Growler from the source. Crystal clear yellow, no head. Aroma is light lemons, citrus, minerals.

PH balance of this beer is really something. The tartness is low and ends clean. Not an expert on brewing a Berliner but... Wow, this is something! So clean. Light bodied and crisp. Maybe salt/ gose hybrid? Very refreshing. Awesome.

Draught at King’s Head on 4/2/16.
A thoroughly hazy golden-orange beer that reminds of the New England IPA with a large white head atop that steadily fades to cover.
The Belgian yeast is very nicely integrated here, adding fruitiness and light earthiness to the otherwise juicy and lemon-sweaty hop notes. Enough pale malt sweetness left behind to give a light indication of honey from the nose and little, if any resin. Didn’t actually realize this was Belgian, as the hops mostly cover up any overt Belgian esters, but it just comes off like a rustic, juicy, interesting IPA. No alcohol or flaws.
In the flavor it’s got the tell-tale New England juiciness. Not as explosive and lush as Tree House et al., but certainly the lovely malt sweetness and oat texture are highly redolent of those. Dryness comes on the end, probably in large part due to the Belgian yeast, with ample, tight carbonation and tons of lemon, grass, nectarine and pineapple. Very mild on the bitterness, though more than enough to balance the malts. Really can’t stand Chouffe, but didn’t even notice it here. Thanks hops!

Bottle thanks to Seth. Pours a hazy yellow with frothy white head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong honey, brett, funk, oak. Medium mouth, strong brett, funky, oak, light finish, good.

Brown with a lot of red. thanks AFH for sharing these. Smells like jam made with raisins, figs and prune juice. The fig just straight up dominates this aroma. Fig, prune and others dominate this with maple syrup potently striking at the finish. The biggest issue I have with this (sorry Dave) is I don’t get anything related to a Porter...much less an imperial porter. The booze is hidden, there’s just a lot of sweetness, no roast no toffee, coffee, espresso, roast, chocolate. It’s more like a fruit beer.

Bottle from AFH. Thanks sir!!! This is a dark reddish brown with a little bit of sediment. A single finger head that fades slowly to a thin tan line. Smells really nice. You get a little bit of the booze aroma, coconut with a very light flaked oat. The mouthfeel is a little thin, The coconut is certainly there. I’ve never had a Tayberry but it certainly lends a sweetness here with a slightly roasted finish. I’m not sure this is a porter though?

500 ml bottle purchased at the brewery about a week ago. Dark brown in color, some small head, light lacing. Aroma is rich with figs, sugar and natural maple hints.

Flavor has layers of figs. Fig for days… Maple is a slightly large influence without becoming cloying. It is sweet but not overly so. The mouthfeel has a lower carbonation level with an oily texture. Medium in body that leans on fuller. Nicely crafted.
