Notes from July 2009 Rare Vos tumbler... quite the unstable-looking thing. BB October notch. Baby gusher. Clear, with a deep brown & amber color. Cakey/scummy oatmeal-colored head. Smell is crusty brown bread, just a little peppery yeast, & some faintly herbal hops. I'm a little bored. Clean though. Tastes of simple crackers & brown malt, light yeastiness, & again, some very mild herbals. They even pleasantly linger a bit. Taste is more fulfilling then the initial smell. Feel is drier then expected. Yeast is chalky. Body is lacking. Carbonation is moderately high. Even being less then inspired with this beer, I can see casually consuming a few before really considering to put up an effort to change speeds. :)

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Lime aromas. Crisp with sweet cinnamon and nutmeg upfront turning to mild lime in the medium length finish. This was a weird one.

Can says 5.2%. Pours light mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Brown bread and caramel aromas. Soft with sweet caramel, honey, date and raisin brown bread upfront turning to earthy bark and fig in the medium length finish. A tad sweet and thin - making it go down pretty quick.

16 oz draft. Aroma shows mild pineapple, weak grapefruit- ish tones. Flavor follows with a mild amount of floral hints under the fruit. Mild citrus peel bitterness. Well made but hard to get excited about this.
