500ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange with a small head. Aroma is sweet mollasses and a touch of raisin. Faint. Taste is sweet raisin to start. Molasses on the finish. A bit flat, not much body. A little alcohol.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, Glos, 28.05.11 consumed at home 30.05.11 Pours amber with off white head. Some alcohol on the nose with sweet fruit and malts. Soft in the mouth and with a little touch of almond, easy drinking and actually not bad at all but quite pokey, actually there is a general toffee nuttiness here, its ok, no world beater but ok. Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Pale chestnut colour. Little bit syrupy on aorma. Not hot or burning, but you are aware that it’s quite strong. Some nuts some dryness on finish. Tasty English strong ale, but very dangerous. 637313 3.2/5.0. 500ml bottle as part of the Sainsburys beer challenge 2011. Cloudy mid brown as it is bottle conditioned and the sediment hadn’t settled even after 24 hours in the fridge. Lasting beige head. Really as above. Yes a little syrupy on the malts. But it’s a very decent English Strong Ale. Yes the honey does come through. Hmmm, yes definitely dangerous. Just slips down. Bit of a bonus as an aperatif as I was waiting my chicken to roast in the oven.

On Gravity at the Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. Amber with a frothy, off-white head. Fruity, slightly sweet aroma. Flavour had more malt sweetness, plus an unpleasant, slightly vinegary edge which really dragged my overall impression down, to the point that it was my least favourite beer of the festival. Not a good start.
