Description

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle, best before June 2019. Clear, dark amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, nuts and hints of chocolate. Moderately sweet, malty, gently bitter taste of caramel, nuts and some chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Okay, quite bland.

Bottle [from trade with RW80] @ home shared with Joes. Opaque black color, decent sized off-white to beige head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, earthy and dusty a bit, moderately sweetish, brown malts, light malt bitters. Bitters mostly in the aftertaste. Texture is a bit thin, body is decent, carbonation is average to medium. Interesting surprising beer. To me it's more like some sort of semi-imperial brown ale rather than an Imperial Stout so for style I'd say it's bad but it tastes fine to me.
