About
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

Keg at Stigbergets Fot, Stockholm 17/06/2024. Pours hazed bright gold with white foam. Aroma: malty, saison funk, wine barrel, floral. Taste: light sharp, towards dry, light funky, lots of wine barrel coming through at the end. Tastes great, loads of complexity.

On tap at La Garage De Monsieur Guy. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has light grass but is mainly bready with a bit of sweet grain coming through. Flavor has light sweet grains with a bit of straw and a touch of grass.

Bottle at Auberge des Ramparts, Péronne. Aroma is classic for the style - some melon. Nice gold look. Takes you through all the correct stages of a blonde on the palate. Melon taste.

29th April 2024; Monthly Beer Share in Chez Sophie (Shrewsbury), five guys and loads of beer! Cheers Mat for the 330ml bottle of this old blonde with it's white head. Strong alcohol feel to the brew, but not much actual flavour.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 24. Brought by me. Had been in the cupboard for a while, mistakingly thinking it was a dark beer. Had I realised it was a blonde I would've opened a year or two earlier. Pours a generally clear deep gold, white head. Boozy whiff, aged blonde. Flavour profile centres on aged blonde flavours, with a nicely integrated barrel influence. I bet this tasted cracking fresh. Rated kindly.
