Bottle from local bottle shop. Aroma is wheat, fruity hops, citrus, light tropical fruits and floral notes, touch of lemon peel, soft but pleasant herbal notes. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Very pleasant herbal/floral-ish citrussy Wheat IPA.

Bottle from local bottle shop. Aroma is strong oak and sweet vanilla, malt, caramel, marzipan, grapes, caramelized fruits, white oak, candy. Flavour is very sweet and a bit boozy. Body is medium. Well brewed and I understand why most like this, but this is way too sweet and heavy on the vanilla and candy for my taste.

Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma of dark roasted malt, intense coffee, creamy mocha, espresso, cocoa, caramel, coffee grounds, with typical Jopen liquorice in the finish. Flavour is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Body is above medium, bit sticky sweet. Nice big grindy coffee aroma with that typical Jopen liquorice. I could do without the liquorice but that being said this is a fine Imperial Coffee Stout.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is peated malt, roast, fairly subtle smoked malt, typical Jopen liquorice, dried fruits, raisins, caramel, candy, some cocoa and a slight touch of cofee. Flavour is sweet and light to moderate bitter. Full bodied. Nice, but has a lot of that liquorice Jopen (and not me) is so fond of.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is chewy rye malt, spicy notes, lots of coriander, orange, bread, with a welcome touch of fruity hops. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is a notch above medium thanks to some creamy rye. Tasty history lesson, sweetish, lots of sturdy rye.

From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2017. Aroma is fruity hops, soft spicy rye malt, bready and mild spicy notes with some fruits. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Easy beer with a nice rye presence.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is bready malt, caramel, a hint of red fruits with a light floral touch and some buttery notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied. Doesn’t make a great impression, it’s a bit rough and I’m not a fan of the buttery touch.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is lots of caramel malt, big notes of wood, rye, vanilla, touch of red fruits, lots of oak, sherry. Flavour is quite sweet and lightly bitter. Body is medium to full. Rich and sweet vanilla oak sherry ’Rye Wine’, nice ’digestif’.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is fruity and a little floral hoppy with citrus, orange, lightly tropical, soft bready malt, light yeast, and a slight herbal touch. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Soft, easy and fruity, I like this.
