On tap at Darby's Gastown, pours black with a small beige head. Nose is fairly dry, with toasted malt and subdued oats - don't get any bourbon or lactose. Flavour is quite different, with sweet cheap bourbon, lactose, and toasted malt. Cloyingly sweet and awkwardly put together. This isn't cohesive, nor does it have much complexity.

Draught, Alibi. Hazy amber. Thin head. The aroma shows a bit of tartness, and some floral, drupal hops. On the palate, the hops are again in that pear-apricot vein. The tartness is moderate but it’s not 100% clean. To me, there’s just a touch of that yoghurty note...but honestly that’s nitpicking.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is subtle, with floral dry hopping and light lacto. Flavour is loaded with lacto upfront, followed by lots of floral dry hopping, bordering on the soapy. Finishes lacto-y and dry hop-forward. Solid stuff.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with full head that settles quicky. Aromas of earthy orange, dull coriander and wet wheaty malts. Flavors follow same with a bit more spice and white pepper. Heavy. yeasty, and thick the way a homebrew wit often turns out.

@ Alibi. Dull amber with a bit of haze. Thin head. Bright, appetizing El Dorado nose, happy dancing lychee and sweet lime. Soft acidity, big bright el dorado. Touch of bitterness, maybe more than I'd prefer, actually. But otherwise quite good.

BC Beer Awards. Hazy light tan. Medium head. On the nose, bright tropical fruits from the el dorado. Bright, acidic, though the malts are a bit weak, but then the papaya-like and orangey hops kick in.

650ml at Brian's office. Pours a clear pale copper with a white head. Aroma is harsh and dirty with fruity notes. Similar taste. Meh.

@Alibi. Hazy, thin head, light tan. On the nose, this is tart with noticeable spruce.. A bit flat, touch of acetic, lots of spruce, which works really well in a sour. Maybe not the most refined, with the flat kettle sour notes, but nonetheless I like it.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Cloudy copper-amber color, almost no head. I like the rustic, earthy sour notes of most Moon Under Water Copper Kettle beers; the lactic acid is evident, and there are timid fruit notes. Dry mouthfeel, lactic acid notes, the blueberry is very light, the final is linear.
Good.
