Very short head, disappears in second. The beer is amber colored. Very strong aroma of cinnamon, with some hints of ginger. It literally smells Xmas. Medium to high bitterness, a bit too long. Medium sweetness. Light body, low carbonated.

Magnum, Mosaic, Kohato and Motueka hops. Hazy deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth, fairly dry and has reasonable fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, some caramel and thin cream. Juicy ripe orange, light floralness. Mild hop spice. Tangy generic fruits before a light dry finish. Not bad, just a tad malt forward.

Bright clear gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Big bounty bar nose. Palate is smooth and mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet coconut dominates all! Touches of malt and citric hop, we buried. Light finish. A few mouthfuls is enough but I can’t hate this beer, the flavour is quite nice but it is 1D and sweet. Saved the rest of it to blend with some Imperial Stout and then make some bread from the blend.

Craft Islington Gathering. Thanks to WingMan. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark chocolate and sweet coffee. Little fruity bitterness. Light semi dry finish. Odd.

Bottle from the Polish Delicatessen, opposite The Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Black with a very thin off-white head. Has a dark malt sweetness in its taste, although not a very stated one, with a soapiness in its nose in this respect. It doesn’t feel its strength.

Bottle at the JK tasting. Bottle thanks to the wingman. It pours darkest brown/near black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is quiet sweet, sticky, chewy malt, chocolate powder and cheap candy. The taste is bitter - sweet, earthy roasted malts, sticky sweetness, coffee grounds and cheap Euro chocolate. Finish is short and sweet. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A pretty poor example of the style.

Bottle shared at the CBC Islington for the jk tasting. Many thanks to the Wingman for this one. A clear reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a small halo of tan head. Aroma is sweet, toffee, brown sugars, vanilla, big diacetyl popcorn. Sweet honey. Flavour is composed of woody sweet toffee, diacetyl, butterscotch. Palate is medium sweet, moderate carbonation, woody. Not great.

Bottle shared at the JK Tasting - Craft Beer Co., Islington. Many thanks to WingyDave. Pours deep brown with a frothy, tan head. Doughy brown bread in the nose, some subtle dark fruits, creamy caramel. Medium sweet flavour with further sugary bread, toffee, touches of milk chocolate. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet on the finish, lightly sticky, with more toffee and dried, dark fruits. Fine enough.
