About
Morland was a brewery in Abingdon-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England, and the second oldest brewer in England, until it was bought by Greene King in 2000. Morland's beers include Hen's Tooth, Old Speckled Hen, Tanner's Jack and Morland's Original.

There is a separate entry for the historic Morland Brewery before it was sold to Greene King.

Bottle. Deep amber with a good cm of off white head. Aroma is roasty with dried fruit, bread and spices. Some citrus. But there’s less presence upon a taste. Still, it’s not that sweet with a moderately bitter and fairly oaky end. I like Olde Suffolk more but this is pretty good too.

Clear 500ml bottle from a local Morrisons store: Drank at home on 14th May 2024. Clean and clear light golden body, white head that soon turns into a wisp and collar. Watered down Old Speckled Hen really, but fairly hop bitter I suppose.

[50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a thick white head; spicy hop aroma; sweet biscuity malt body with some fruit and hedgerow hops; then a fresh hoppy finish with lingering caramel. Basically a lower ABV version of Old Speckled Hen.

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Lidl Culemborg. Clear dark golden with a thin white head. Breasy aroma with some citrus. Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. Typical malt-centered English ale. Quite tasty.

Creamy off white head stayed on a reddish brown coloured body. Malt, caramel, toffee & berry tastes. Much nicer on Cask than bottle. Nice one
