(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond and firm mid-sized foamy head. Strawy and subtle grainy pale malty aroma with doughy notes and a whiff of grassy hops in the background. Slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Strawy and slightly papery malt character with notes of sour dough and hints of onions towards the slightly sweet and restrained bitter finish. Meh. 05.II.18

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly dark malty, delicately toasted aroma with notes of caramel, a whiff of rubber and cauliflower. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Delicately dark malt character with bready and subtle nutty hints, caramel, as well as a mildly oaky touch and vanilla; slightly sweet and restrained bitter finish with notes of papery malt and shades of grassy hops. 05.II.18

Fläschken: Clear, golden with a faint ruby sheen, small and persistent white head, visible carbonation; mild strawy and honeyish nose with a grassy background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, not soft; lingering drier bitter grassy and pale-malty finish. Not a real Maerzen, more a mediocre Imperial Pils...

Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains and some straw. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy taste of grains and some straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and minimally metallic finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local 'Trink & Spare', best before April 2018. Clear, dark reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit dusty aroma of caramel, honey, some nuts and a touch of raisins. Moderately sweet, malty, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy and a little fruity taste of caramel, toasted nuts, grains, some cardboard and hints of raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and a bit papery finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Sweetish, stale and a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, nuts and some cardboard. Moderately sweet, slightly malty, a bit grassy-spicy taste of caramel, nuts, grains and some cardboard, followed by a short, moderately bitter, stale and a bit grassy-spicy finish with a metallic touch. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Just bad, hardly enjoyable.

Sweetish, slightly grassy aroma of grains and some straw. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, watery and a bit grassy taste of mainly grains, some cardboard and a touch of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and a bit metallic finish. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Poor, even worse than expected.

Bottle from a colleague and drunk at home. Clear pale gold colour lasting white head. A little cardboard and lemon aroma. Decent mouthfeel some decent lemon flavour not much malt mostly a watery lemon hell lager. Some hop on the finish. Ok.
