330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish, deep golden colour with average to huge, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Herbal-grassy and citrusy, minimally floral, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon drop, lemon balm, fresh hay, a touch of pear and basil. Taste is minimally sweet, wheaty, now relatively weak, citrusy hoppy, hints of lemon, a touch of banana; minimally watery. Soft palate, gentle, almost a bit flat carbonation. Aroma promises a really good Hopfenweisse, taste can't completely meet this claim. A nice one, though.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Grassy and minimally floral, hoppy and nuttily, dark malty aroma, notes of fresh hay, a touch of weed, hints of brazil nut. Taste is minimally sweet, nutty dark malty, a touch of treacle and malt lozenge, grassy hoppy counterweight, hints of Brazil nut, weed, plum tree bark, earthy fruity hints of juniper berry and prune. Pretty hoppy for a (traditional) Doppelbock, quite complex maltiness.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly bready malty aroma with notes of caramel, fruity hints of apricots and pears, as well as woody hops. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a tame carbonation. Sticky malty start with notes of bread, caramel, wort and subtle fruity flavours; sweet malty and restrained bitter finish. 02.XII.17

Sampled @ 3. Mainzer Craftbier Messe 2017. A dark brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark caramelish malt, chocolate, mild roasted malt. Taste of sweet dark malt, chocolate, toffee.
