500 ml bottle from the duty-free shop at the airport. Aroma is soft cracker malt and light honey -ish grain. Flavor is weak honey, weak minerals and a weak yeast in the finish. Overall impression it’s a little bit better than the previous Dortmunder.

Bottle picked up from a local Getrankemarkt in Deggendorf and consumed at home Friday 21st August 2026 listening to Antony Szmierek - Decoding Birdsong, we are having Feta and Spinach Canelloni for tea. Pours hazy yellow golden with a mid sized white head. Nice mouthfeel and good carbonation. Pleasant lemonyness the beer element taking a bit of a backseat here,. Refreshing and solid radler not amazing but not bad either. Score: 6.7

A clear pale reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of caramelized and breadish malt, spicy hops, toffee. Taste of caramelized malt, dark bread, cereals, biscuit, moderate bitterness.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts mild, fine malty, spicy. Some grasy-moldy notes as well. Light metallical touch. Finish could be more balanced. Okay.

Bottle picked up from Markgrafen-Getränkemarkt, Bodenmais consumed at home Sunday 18th January 2026, listening to Snocaps - Snocaps, we had an Indian meal of Chicken Chasni, Rajma, Puri, Indian Arancini balls. Pours mid gold with a large white head that didn't last long. There's a little bit of honey on the nose so I am in agreement with the description on that front, however not picking up apricot or indeed any stone fruit, there's a little bit of glue or something similar. Taste is solid, sweet maltiness honey again, a touch of bitterness. Quite good if a bit simplistic. Score 6.8

Bottle, REWE Bodenmais. Very pale golden vody, white head, fleeting. Bit eggy, minerally, sulfury, malty aroma, honey touch, vague white wine. Sweetish bit grainy malty taste, yolky, uneven bitterness, low alcohol, low DMS. Nah, just okay.

Bottle picked up in a six pack from Grafenau Edeka and consumed sat on the balcony Thursday 27th June 2024. Pours gold with a slight chill haze, large white head. There is a nice lightly citric, fruity bite, honey sweetness, malty light bitterness. Hoppiness plays it's part without intruding, good beer, it's a nice Helles. .

Bottle picked up from Getrankemarkt in Bodenmais and consumed at home Monday 24th June 2024 at the top the garden. Pours brown with an off white fast disappearing head, notes of caramel, toffee and roasted malt, unsurprisingly these also transfer into the mouth. A touch of sweetness but it's a very nice Dunkel.

Bottle just called Drachselsrieder Lager (no mention of Zellertal) picked up from a Getrankemarkt in Bodenmais and consumed at home Saturday 22nd June 2024 listening to The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - Out of Frequency, It's a Greek night tonight, Souvlaki, Village Sausage (a wonderful long Sausage from Greece), Tsatsiki, homemade Pittas, Saganaki and Dakos Salad, on the wood oven in the garden. Pours clear gold with a fast disappearing white head, but it was a big head. Nice soft carbonation, enjoyable beer that deserved a better review, however I was busy cooking.
