Test vom 10.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,8,7,7,12,7 - 7,80

Draught: Poured a golden color with small white head. The aroma was very light and grain. Taste is crisp grain with nice refreshing hops.

Draught: Poured a dark brown almost black with an off white cream head. The aroma was sweet roasted malt. Taste seemed roasted malt, but also a rusty metallic was present.

Grober, schnell verschwundener Schaum. Test vom 4.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 5,9,9,8,6,8 - 7,90

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized, non-persistent foamy white head. Medium-sweet, slightly honey-ish malty nose with grassy and light herbal hops. Malt-accented, slightly grainy and chalky taste; moderately dry, sweet-bitter finish. Not really bad, just very bland.

Bottle: Hazy, mahagony coloured, bigger fluffy tanned head, that slowly collapses; caramelly-sourish aroma with a touch of bananas; moderate sweetish (malty)-sourish flavour, light bodied; toasted malt and bananas in the finish, meeting there a light acidity. Not bad, but not my favourite style......

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, mid-sized lacing off-white head; malty, caramelly nose with hoppy traces and a tinge of roasted malt; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; drier malty - a bit roast-malty too - finish with a harmonic hoppy touch in the very end. A pleasant, well rounded Schwarzbier......

Bottle: Golden coloured, medium sized lacing white head; cloves, bananas and vegetables in the nose, wheat too; mild sweetish flavour, light to empty bodied; traces of fruity acidity in the faint sweetish finish. Gulp, doesn’t even work as a thirst-quencher..........

Bottle: Pale golden coloured, big rocky white head, lacing and slowly collapsing; cardboard, sweet malt (a little worty) and grassy bitterness in the nose; dry bitter flavour, light bodied; finishes with an almost tart, grassy bitterness. Not good, a typical attenuated "slim" - an euphemism for "empty" - German Pilsener.......

Flip-top bottle (33cl): Pale golden coloured, small foamy layer; slightly sweetish-grainy, a bit hoppy nose; mild bitter flavour, quite light bodied; short, bitter and grainy finish. A quite bland, average Pils............
