Bottle: Deep amber coloured, stable and lacy beige head; shy dry roast-malty aromas in the light dark-malty nose; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; cacao-powder in the dryish-malty finish. More a Schwarzbier than a Dunkel, absolutely not too sweet.........

(screw cap bottle) Clear, auburn colour with a dense mid-sized beige foamy head. Moderately sweet toast-malty nose, slightly grainy with a whiff of citrus and herbal hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, hearty toast-malty taste with distinctive notes of caramel and a bit of burnt sugar that linger into the malt-accented finish. Pleasant Franconian Dunkel (20.05.08).

Süßlich brotiger Geruch. Kurzer zurückhaltender Malzantrunk, der schnell ins brotige umschlägt. Dabei ist das Aroma angenehm und erinnert höchstens minimal an die Brotigkeit eines Malzbieres. Intensiver und wenig alkoholisch im Mittelteil. Interessanter ist der Abgang und der Nachgeschmack, hier setzt sich eine deutliche Würzigkeit fort, die einzig auf dem nun voluminöse Malzaroma aufbaut. Etwas schokoladig, röstig. Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of malted wheat, but also lighter notes of banana and citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of wheat and bananal, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Hildigöltur. Very hazy, pale golden with a small, white head. Aroma of citrus and yeast. Medium body with notes of banana and some overripe fruits. The finish is dry. 120108

The bottle looks not bad, but a little bit old. The beer in the glass is okay, nearly no foam. The beer is constant malty and dry, not really drinkable. Should be a little bit sweeter. An average doppelbock.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a fully diminished white head. Mild wheaty aroma. Flavour is dry wheaty, no fruit notes. Gains a bit of sweetness along the way. Ends medium dry and wheaty.

Bottled@One Pint Oktofest 2007). Deep ruby colour with mediumsized creamy white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild burnt sugar and quite much rye bread. Flavour is caramel, ryebread and some mild hopping. Overall quite sweet thing.

Bottled. Pale yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is malts, saltwater, hops and some grass. Flavour is grass, malts, hops and some saltwatery notes. Not the most pleasant one.
