Description
In 1961 Tetley Walker merged with Ind Coope and Ansells to form Allied Breweries, then the world's largest brewing conglomerate. In 1978 Allied merged with J. Lyons to form Allied Lyons.

The breweries business merged with Carlsberg in 1992 and became Carlsberg-Tetley, which is now part of Carlsberg Group.

Some Ind Coope beers continued to be brewed by Carlsberg, but it isn't clear if they are still being brewed.

Any beers from before the initial merger in 1961 should be listed separately.

Craft Beer Junction bottle share. Thanks to Leighton for the bottle. Clear amber brown beer, no real head. Light palate, mildly dry, modest fine carbonation, very modest. Nice malts, sweet caramel, a little toffee. Really good plummy jammy fruits. Light and semi dry finish. Fuck me, this has held up superbly. No obvious oxidisation and tasty brew all round.

Bottle shared at CBJ - picked up in London. Pours clear copper with a slight, creamy off-white head. Medium to big sweet flavour, ripening berries, bready malts, toffee, caramel. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Fruity finish, more bready malts and toffee. Not bad at all!

From old tasting notes. Lovely copper colored brew with a large foamy beige head and a few medium sized bubbles. Toasted malt nose hints at brewed coffee. Slightly bitter malt flavor with an underlying sourness. Brief, spicy dry finish and aftertaste. Fairly well balanced. Nice flavor.
