Brewery tap, small tasting glass. A most pleasant mix of hops, malt and alcohol in the aroma, like in good British barley wines. Thick mouthfeel. Malty sweet, luckily not too sweet, the present but not overpowering alcohol helps. Fruity tones add to the excellent balance of this beer.

Tap, tasting glass. Thin, but an excellent hopbitter flavor. Hint of cherry (is it the house yeast character?), even a touch of wood. Long hopbitter aftertaste with a most welcome touch of malt shimmering through. Light but pleasant hoparoma, pity the waitress couldn’t tell me which kind of hops were used. Very British, this Zutphen made beer.

Tap, small tasting glass. Full bodied, rather vinous flavor. Malty sweet and caramelly, but also very fruity. Cherry but also porto-like grapes. Warming alcohol. Somewhat sharp on the tongue. Hint of licorice. Also licorice and cake dough in the aroma. Pretty well balanced.

Brewery tap, small tasting glass. Hint of cardemom in the aroma. This comes back stronger in the flavor. Medium bodied. Warming alcohol. Flowery hops are present, but pushed back by the warming alcohol. Pleasant and powerful tripel, but I would like it a bit more balanced. Poured @ the brewery, 28.04.10. New name of the beer is Drogenap Tripel. Blonde. Cardemom in the aroma. malty spicy flavor with dried fruit and alcohol. Not too sweet, spicy aftertaste. Once again, the balance could be better.

Brewery tap, tasting glass. Very malty flavor with red fruit and amarena cherries. Light malt and amarena aroma. "Only malt, no added fruit or other additives" the pretty blonde waitress explained. Sweet and very fruity bock type, somewhat perfumed.

Cellar run @ the brewery, poured by the brewer himself. Blonde, cloudy. Fresh cheese and citrus in the aroma and flavor. Short aftertaste and fairly low on aroma. Dryish and thinnish.

On tap at the Brewpub, Zutphen, Netherlands Thursday 27th September 2018 following a lovely cycle ride alongside the river from our campsite nr Deventer Like the Magistraat this pours dark brown with a slim off white head, but in flavour a million miles away from that beer. Caramel, dates and a little liquorice, it's an enjoyable beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4
