Marke Ahornberger Heller Bock, verantwortet vom Frankenwälder Brauhaus, Naila, Flasche von der Getränkequelle, Quedlinburg. - Kupfergold, klar. - In der Nase fettes, leicht vulgäres brotiges Malz, Bierwürze, satte Karamelsüße, Anklänge an Seifenlauge und milde, dumpf krautige Hopfung. - Antrunk fett karamelsüß-toastmalzig mit muffigen, zart pilzigen Zügen, Trockenobst und bocktypischer aber leerer Süße. Nicht sehr kräftige aber derbe hopfenwürzige Herbe. Durchschnittlich rezent, vollmundig. Rauhe, fuselige Züge. Im Abgang billige Hopfenextraktbittere. - Billig gemachter, nur schwach genießbarer Bock. Besser gleich wegschütten. (17.5.2022.)

500ml bottle. Opalescent, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, and lacing, snow white head. Minimally musty, grainy and strawy, malty aroma, a touch of silage. Taste is strawy and grainy malty, crisp, bitter hoppy with metallic overtones. Minimally oily, watery texture, dry, minimally repellent palate, fine, prickly carbonation. Quite bitter hoppy, really surprising amount of bitterness for a Bavarian Pils, but pure hop bitterness without any hop flavours, some grassy aspects at best, moreover inserted on top of pretty trivial, grainy, strawy, musty, malty layers - deficient.

500ml bottle. Minimally milky, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Weak, husky, malty aroma, a minimally doughy, spicy, yeasty touch, whiffs of protein. Taste is grainy, husky, minimally spicy, pale malty, slightly bitter, minimally grassy hoppy, a touch of protein, minimally metallic overtones. Watery texture, dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Rather simple and monotonous - not really exciting.

Gold with a frothy, white head. A subdued aroma of bread and herbs. The hops is more evident in the taste, which is modestly bitter throughout. Finishes with a peppery note. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Drinkable.

0,5 l Euro 1 bottle. Clear dark copper in the glass. Unusual dark for a Heller Bock. One finger short living white head. Malt, nuts and fruity elements on the nose. Taste is malty and grainy, some dry malt bitterness, shy floral fruity. Sugar sweetness and increasing alcoholic bitterness in the second part. Not bad.
