From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. creamy tan head. Rich sweet roasted malt aroma. Flavorful roasted malt hints at toffee and dark fruit.ma faithful rendition of a Bavarian Dark Lager.

Rated from old notes. Hoppy and toasted taste. Unchallenging and has the makings of a failure, but comes back around and settles into a drinkable if unglamorous beer.

On tap at trio in the outer banks it is an amber color with a slight head. The aroma is indistinguishable. The taste is thin with no outstanding flavor maybe some caramel

16oz can. Poured a clear yellow color with a small white, fizzy head. Aroma was crisp lager notes, some floral hops, light malts. Flavor was clean, crisp. Pretty tasty compared to many of the reviews.

Bottom-fermented dark lager from an American brewpub also brewed under license by Anker Brauerei in Nagold, Germany. Tasted at Delirium Café in Brussels years ago. Aroma of soy sauce, coffee grounds, chocolate, dark fruits, sherry; soft sweetish taste, granular mouthfeel but otherwise thinnish (as expected from a 4.6% ABV lager), mild roasted bitterness in the finish. Seems to hesitate whether it wants to become a Dunkel or a Schwarzbier.
