Aroma of straw and mint, and like toothpaste. The pour is hazy yellow and headless, despite an aggressive attempt to produce one. Utter lack of carbonation. Phenolic and tastes like a salty apple. Tolerable bitter hop finish. The last time I had a Weeping Radish was a number of years ago and I hated it. I was told the brewer no longer outsources and has resumed brewing inhouse. I see no improvement. If anything, this hefe tastes worse than the lager I had the first time.

Bottled
Very dark ruby color, creamy brown head. Aroma of car tyre (rubber), light roasted notes. Light palate. Sour and a bit toasted malty flavor. Sourish aftertaste. Not really enjoyable porter: looks ok but that’s about it. Another Haus der 131 Biere "fake".

Bottled. Happy Happy Joy Joy. More stuff "organised" by Haus der 131 Biere. Dark ruby colour with minor head. Aroma is quite crap, almost like a Finnish summercottage "outhouse" in the summertime. Sweet and disgusting. Flavour is like a dark lager with added sugar. Looks dark and nice, but tastes like a lager. Some syrupy notes also.

A deep brownish red beer with a thin bubbly brown head. The aroma is roasted and chocolaty malty. The flavor is very sweet malty with notes of brown sugar, metal, and nuts. But the body is a bit thin.

Bottle courtesy of Brentfeesh: Poured a slightly hazy golden yellow beer with a nice medium foamy head with average retention. Aroma of wheat with some subtle sour and lactose note. Taste included a good dose of wheat with some sweetness but there is still a small sour and lactose feel in the aftertaste that bothers me. Slightly below your average weizen with probably a small infection.

Bottle at Delirium Café in Gothenburg. Brewed under license in Germany. Pitch black color, big beige head. Fruity a bit alcoholic scent. Medium body, low to no bitterness. Fresh taste, but not much else.

This sample was, despite the same name - but with a slightly higher ABV (5.7 instead of 5.2) - not brewed in NC but at the Anker Brauerei in Nagold, Germany, under license). Yellow-brown, creamy head; dark, nearly black beer with hints of red. Chocolate, vinous, higher alcohols, bit of laurel, dark malts. Slightly sourish, indeed a bit stout-like, sweet malts underneath. Much less aromatic than the nose, the laurel is there, more woody finish. Well bodied, bit of sourburn. Black LAGER??? Fusels, vinous notes, what is this? Whatever, ’t ain’t half bad.

Bottle. Chocolate and maple aroma. Dark brown with small head. Light maple and malt flavor up front with moderate astringency and bitterness in the finish. High acidity and mild carbonation. Fairly light for the style but pretty good - not as meaty as some but I’ll have to disagree with some of the other raters - this is a good example of the style. Weeping Radish does a good job at recreating German styles.
