Golden, clear, frothy white head that dissipates, bit of lacing
Aroma - Pale malts, some hay, some soft grassy hops, bit of must
Taste - Better than the aroma - grassy hops, some resinous hops, sweet palate malts, bit of damp hay, some zest. In the middle, more bitterness but tempered by the sweetish hay malts. Unusual hops here, bit earthy as well. Quite complex. Not that fruity, more zest, grassy and wet hay.
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish - more bitter here, now bitter grapefruit coming through and more zest, less grass. Quite a complex linger of hops left in the lingering
Overall - Hard to describe this one as it’s rather unusual. I liked it though, the bitterness seems to want to be overpowering but is always held back by the malts. It’s a very good beer

Cask at CBC, London. Pours clear brown with a soft, foamy head. Nose of milk cocoa, some lacto sugars. Light to medium sweet flavor with velvety smooth lactic chocolate and mild, ashy roasted malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with soft roast, smooth chocolate, faint dirt. A very nice stout.

Black, no light though, thin tan head, good lacing
Aroma - soft chocolate malts, smooth mellow roasted malts, great aroma
Taste - soft chocolate malts, light soft coffee, smooth roasted malts, complex but mellow flavour, superb flavour, great balance, alcohol is almost completely hidden
Palate - soft carb. full bodied. Smooth creamy texture. Finish as main flavour, good linger.
Overall - This is so well crafted, so well balanced, smooth and a really great flavour, no astringency, nothing rough in there at all. This is the best beer for me in the EIBF 2012

Orange amber, clear, good thick white head, good lacing
Aroma - citrus juicy malts, citrus hops, tropical fruits, some soft grassy hops, sweet resins
Taste - grassy resinous hops, sweet juicy malts. golden caramel, bitter grapefruit, bitter lemon zest
Palate - soft carb, medium body, sticky texture. Finis dry, quite astringent hop..zesty...strong bitterness..long linger bur quite pleasent
Overall - Really good APA, considerably bitter finish.

Taste: Very hoppy with a tropical fruit flavour. Pine resin in there too. Dry, bitter finish.
Palate: Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.
Overall: One for hop heads. Lovely sticky resin and fruit flavours. Arguably Hawkshead’s finest beer.

33cl bottle thanks to unstablefable. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. The nose has pine, lavender and grapefruit - my shower gel. The taste has grapefruit and more grapefruit. The palate is light to medium in body with a zingy finish - slightly too dry for my preference but good for one or two. Overall, a good ale - more like an IPA I think.
