From cask at Counting House. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, grapefruity and peachy. Bitter, fruity, grapefruity and peachy. Bitter and citrusy fruity finish.

Cask at CBC - Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear, dark brown with a fine, tan cream head. Soft roasted coffee nose, some dry cocoa, mild lactic tang. Light sweet flavour with restrained roasted malts, dusty cocoa, a bit of tobacco ash, some earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bit of dry roast malts to finish, light bitter earth, subtle cocoa. Nice stout, though the character could be a touch more robust.

Keg @ Woodrow Wilson, Carlisle. Looks like a lager but feels like an ale. Has a slight pale aroma and mild hopped taste.

Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear, black-brown with a fine, creamy head. Rich aroma with cocoa, coffee, whisky, wood. Medium to big sweet flavor with some bitter, booze-soaked wood, dark chocolate, some pinot noir, charred earth, lightly tangy dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Mildly warming to finish but impressively mild (i.e. low-impact) at the same time, with some dark wood, dark chocolate, light coffee. Thereโs a great wood character permeating this beer. Great stuff. I wish I saw Hawkshead more often.

On gravity at the Factoberfest, the Tobacco Factory, Bristol 7/09/2012. Near black with a slight tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts with a touch of caramel. Flavours of milk chocolate and coffee with a dryish finish. Good.

Thx. to the kind soul who shared a 33 cl. bottle of this @ Borefts 2012. Clear pale golden with a white head. Nose is mellower, sweeter hops, are the NZ hops?, caramel, citrus, lighter tropical fruits adding a tad sweeter fruitier juiciness to the whole. Tastes of lychee, mango, sweet flowers, some citrus & touch pine, caramel backbone. Easy to drink - ESB? You hop any of the blonder beers and then... I donโt mind it tastes awesome.

Cask (handpump) @ Lion Tavern, 67 Moorfields, Liverpool, Merseyside, England L2 2BP.Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, nutty, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dry, dark roasted, burnt. Body is medium, texture is oily and smooth, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120117]

Bottle 330ml. @ [ Edinburgh Danish Invasion Tasting) by cgarvieuk - Edinburgh ].Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate to light light heavy hoppy, citrus, orange - citrus, mango. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration, orange - citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120422]

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby - 19/09/12. Clear gold with a very thin white head. Summer fruits on the nose, a little apple, hops. Hops in the taste, caramel, light fruit tones. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

500ml bottle - a rusty brown body, thin white head, bit of a citric hoppy nose. First taste is strong citrus, bitter after taste, but with notes of caramel and dried fruits. Not bad, I remember this being better in the Lakes on cask, but not bad nonetheless.
