Cask (handpump) @ Fat Cat, 23 Alma Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire England S3 8SA.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - roasted, overriped apple, rubber - plastic. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity bitter overriped apple. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20100426]

5th August 2010. GBBF.
Clear amber beer. Light dry palate. Very low carbonation. Well balanced light toffee malt and mild hops. Totally flat though and that doesn’t help.

Cask@GBBF2010. Goldeny amber colour, small head. Aroma is wood, sap, nectar, mild syrup as well as some fruits and mild nuttyness. Flavour is fruits, wood, some fudge, caramel and mild nuttyness.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and hoppy. Bitter, malty and slight diacetyl touch. Bitter and caramelish into a subdued sweet finish. Vague bitterness.

[Jim shared a bottle with me - cheers!] Pours golden-amber with no head at all. Looks fizzy in the glass but isn’t in the mouth - quite a creamy mouthfeel. Herbal aroma. Caramel & butter dominates the sweet taste with a few minty herbs behind. Drinkable, but - haha - a bit of a shambles. Not sure their bottling is up to scratch.

27th April 2010. Clear dark amber beer. Low carbonation. Light semi dry palate. Toffeish malt - dry. Pretty well balanced with a little hop that’s not bitter. Toffee malt dominates a little.

Bottle that my dad brought along, cheers dad, consumed 24-07-09 Pours orangey brown with a thin white head. Taste is sweet with some toffee but also a some sweet orange, its fruity with some bitterness, fine. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bottle that I picked up at a small grocers shop in Potton, Cambs 04-05-09 Pours reddy amber, good clarity, not much of a head. There is a slight woodiness and also tea like flavour to this, nice easy going bitterness. This is a pleasantly tasty beer, that went down very well. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3

50cl bottle from Tescos, Stevenage. Very similar to the Shambles Bitter. Reddish amber coloured with a fast fading white head; malty aroma; sweet caramel flavour wirh a good fruity bitterness, more aromatic than the Shambles. Another good ordinary bitter.
