Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is nectar, wood and some honey. Flavour is really hoppy and grassy. Rather caramelly and sweet, but still giving a nice bitterness to it.

Poured a classic deep deep, yet clear, brown with one inch mocha head. The aroma is roasted malts, some dusty astringent malts, a hint of burnt malts, a hint of coffee, faint sweet caramelized malts and licorice. The flavor starts roasty with edges of burnt malts. As the carbonation crescendos coffee, licorice, sweet caramelized malts, vanilla and faint cream soda notes become turbulent across the palate. The finish has lingering roasty, burnt and coffee notes.

Clear dark ruby black body with a large creamy light brown head. Sweet rich chocolate aroma with some caramel and coffee. Dry chocolate and caramel flavor with a light roasted malt and bitter end.

It smells of chocolate. Perhaps a bit of roasted malt. Deep clear brown color with a reddish tinge. Nearly opaque. Frothy tan head that laces. Thin to medium body. Mild carbonation that fizzes a small bit. It does start with chocolate, but as the carbonation departs there is a toasted malt flavor typical of porters. A bit sweet in the middle, but the finish is dry, leaving a light toasted flavor in the mouth. An excellent porter.

Bottle. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops and balancing fruity malt. Flavour was primarily of fruity malts with some citrus hops (and unfortunately a slightly metallic aftertaste) at the end. Not bad for 80p from ASDA.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2007. Deep orange gold colour with no head. Reasonable honeyed. Some malt, some hop. Bit like a honey sweet, but not sweet, it’s dry. Honeycomby like a Cadbury’s Crunchie.

Bottled from ASDA. Straw coloured with a small white head. This beer really delivered on the hops front. Aroma packed full of floral notes, grass and grapefruit. Tastes of citrus with a bit of malt in the background and a dry finish. A very good, easy drinking beer.

cask at the 18th paisly festival, dark coloured ale, with lots of coffe on nose and palate. very intersting but unlikly for a 2nd pint

bottle - Pours almost black with a thin tan head. The ample aroma has roast malt and prominent chocolate notes. The flavor is roast malt, chocolate, and coffee blending together in a very tasty combination. Well balanced and full bodied, this is a very good example of the style.

A deep dark porter with a thin moka head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, cardamom and licroice, with some buttery notes, quite pleasing. In mouth, a rather light porter in the begiining, but which yields long roasted malts and bitter chocolate long after the sip is taken. There is some woody notes here, and light metallic bitterness. Interesting. BOTW, fall 2006.
