Enjoyed a couple of these after a day of Cave Tubing. Strange little bottle that looks like a 12oz bottle but is marked 260ml which roughly equates to 9oz. If you look closely the glass in the bottle is really thick, apparently glass is cheaper than beer in Belize. Anyhow. Pours a pale fizzy yellow with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of light grains, corn, dms. Not all that appealing. Taste is much the same. Fizzy and bubbly mouthfeel and carbonation level, light body. This was probably my least favorite light lager of my trip. Serve it ice cold, pound it straight out of the bottle and its thirst quenching, but lacked just about everything in taste. Stick with the Belikin Premium which is much better.

Shared a six pack of this on the tender from Belize City to the cruise ship. Pours a standard pale straw yellow color with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of grainy malt a hint of corn and floral hops. Taste is pretty decent for a light lager. Sweet grainy malts with a hint of honey and floral hops. A hint of dms and a relatively dry finish. Medium carbonation, low to medium body, creamy/watery mouthfeel. Not a bad lager at all to drink down on a hot day. If I ever make it back to Belize I wouldn’t hesitate to tip a few of these back.

Bottle courtesy of Phyllis. Pours dark ruby black(ruby on thin spots. Aroma suggests wet dog? Musty. Fully bodied. Flavor is dark, biting, bitter sweet malt with treacle and lots of dark fruit. Lots of flavor.

Bottle brought back by Phyllis. Pours brassy gold with a foamy 3 finger white head. Nice bready aroma backed by citrus and noble hop. It has body, and a nice level of carbonation. It’s bready, and very lightly fruity. Finishes with a nice dose of bitter. Clean. Fairly crisp. Drinks well.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Fusel alcohols, some dms, and notes of grains and fruits on the nose. After some time in the glass, it gets better, but it’s still pretty awful. Unfortunately the flavor isn’t much better, and it doesn’t improve after some time in the glass either. Grainy and fruit, withouth any bitterness, and with notes of solvent. Medium to thin on the palate, and hardly any finish to speak of. Almost like drinking water. It’s a good thing all the bad flavors in this beer don’t last. A beer that is next to horrific. Or maybe just plain and simple horrific. 100611

Bottle, courtesy of Saxo. It’s a clear, golden beer with a decent off-white head. Grains and fruits on the nose, and a faint touch of dms. The flavor is grainy and fruity, half decent actually, with some sweetness and a faint bitterness. Medium body, dry. A hint of metal and bitterness finishes this one. It’s better than the Belikin Beer, but that’s all. Definitely not worth a revisit. 100508

Bottle, shared by Saxo. It’s a clear, almost golden beer wtih a small, white to off-white head. Grainy nose with dms and a faint fruity touch. The flavor has dms, grains and some fruits. Not much bitterness found. Thin, dry mouthfeel. A both boring and not very good beer. 100508
