16 ounce can. Pours a pitch black hue with a small white head. A big boozy sweet nose, vanilla, coffee. The flavor leans toward sticky sweet flavors and dark fruit, prunes, slick oily palate, herbal elements. No way this is 17%. I mean, I actually don't believe it. 11% maybe. But it is really smooth, not hot at all. Overall, this is a really nice stout. A sort of herbal juicy rye barrel.

16 ounce can. Pours a really hazy, turbid orange hue with almost no head. A big juicy fruity nose. Really juicy, sweet vanilla, soft perfume. Sort of husky, a bit funky, maybe a few socks in there. OK. Sort of gone too far on the hazy spectrum, raw flavors.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/24/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy ruby red grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, orange, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, lighter peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of grapefruit, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy ruby red grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, orange, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, lighter peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and citrus peel/zesty bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy ruby red grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, orange, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of grapefruit, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and bitterness balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering sour/tart/tangy/bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/peel/zesty balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent fruited sour. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of grapefruit, fruity/acidic yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic. Great balance of big juicy/vibrant grapefruit and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected of the series.
