Description
The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

On tap @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Slightly unclear yellow/golden body with a white head. Aroma is mild fruity with yeast and “soapy” spices. Flavor is much the same, light pale malt, hint of fruit, yeast and feels soapy. Medium to thin body and short in aftertaste. I was not too impressed with this one, lack of complexity and did not feel too good about the soapy flavor.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and orange zest, yeast, and a bit of spices. Flavour is quite wheat-heavy, with some orange and citrus. Quite wheaty and refreshing, with a well-balanced mouthfeel. Decent, but unspectacular saison.

750 ml bottle. Can’t remember from where. Pours clear copper with a frothy and fizzy beige head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet, tiny sour and vinous with bread, dark grapes, wood, black pepper, lemon juice, cereal, hay, dry soil and hints of barnyard, caramel and resin. Taste is slightly sour and tiny funky with cereal, crackers, hay, dry wood, green grapes, black pepper, cloves, dry soil, lemon juice and sourdough bread. Mouthfeel is dry, spritzy and light to medium bodied. Finish is dry and spicy with crackers, wood, cereal, hay, grape skins, bread, lemon zest and wood. Quite tasty.

On tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Has a hazy straw colour with a white, wipped egg white-like, head. The aroma is filled with hops, grass and citrus. Wonderful flavours of citrus, hops and hay. A light and slick mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. A fresh, tasteful and delicious saison.
